Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Review
“Only the most broken people can be great leaders”
Namor
Hey everyone! SO WAKANDA FOREVER RELEASED A FEW DAYS BACK… Now this was the movie I needed from Marvel Studios after a fairly, let’s say, disappointing year for the MCU with lacklustre projects that were entertaining, sure enough, but just not quite up to the mark of the films that made the MCU truly incredible to watch. Black Panther : Wakanda Forever, however reminds us once again, just how good the MCU is when they’re in prime form.
The movie pays great homage to the late Chadwick Boseman. The entire movie is a tribute to the actor in a certain way.

With that said, let’s talk about what makes this movie great. I will not be delving into spoilers, but I might post a spoiler review in a few days’ time. The story of this film carries it throughout. Wakanda Forever dosen’t have the grandest action scenes, but it dosen’t need to have them. It’s a slow-burn, gripping emotional movie that deals with themes of loss, anger, grief and moving on from these emotions. It shows us how to stand up in the face of disaster and crisis, and give our best fight, even when we think we have nothing left to fight for. The standout performances are from Angela Basset as Queen Ramonda and from Letitia Wright as Shuri. Also, Tenoch Huerta, what a talent! He carries the movie as Namor, and steals the film in every scene he’s in. One of my favourite MCU antagonists.

This film has some amazing visuals, especially the underwater sequences! Those are spectacular (*chef’s kiss*). I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s nominated for film awards in the VFX category, and it’ll probably give all the other films a run for their money (I’m looking at you, Avatar 2). The movie has a great score and an amazing use of music and songs.

With that said, the movie is not perfect. I did think it has some flaws, especially in the movie’s final act. Some parts of the movie were drawn out too long and others that needed more attention came to an abrupt end. It has some issues with it’s pacing and it’s not knit together too well. That’s my only complaint with the film. Remarkable film by the MCU and it is very deserving of praise. Do stay for the post credits. Also, no spoilers (kinda?), but there is a certain cameo that you will definitely love in the film.
Wakanda Forever passes with flying colours.
8/10.

For the sake of the plot! 😂
Totally agree. Each frame is a piece of art, a canvas painting. I have just one question, daviddepirate – “Why…

This is an incredible watch. The period is well captured too, which just adds a few notches to the rating…
